Distribution of Personnel by State and by Selected Locations is published annually by the Department of Defense, Washington Headquarters Services, Directorate for Information Operations and Reports (DoD/WHS/DIOR).

This report provides information on DoD personnel by operating location as of September 30, 1998. The information is presented in two sections showing:

1. The percent distribution of DoD active duty military and direct hire civilian personnel, by state, according to Defense Component; and
2. DoD active duty military and direct hire civilian personnel, by installation or selected city, according to Defense Component.
